Course Description & Aims
This course is designed to present students with an introduction to literature and literary analysis. Looking at texts according to genre (primarily), we will focus on skills of close reading and developing critical approaches to literature. We will consider texts in their historical and, when available, in their material contexts.
The primary texts in this course have been selected by the English Department.
